Mudchute Park and Farm - Free entry to one of the largest city farms in Europe - 32 acre estate, open daily, including a great cafe, a range of rare breed animal, picnic fields and interests, wide pathways for a whole family adventure day out, to investigate around the fields, paddocks and walks on the banks of the Thames.

                  Bedfordshire Project  -  On-going new build, new stone, 2m high, 'hands - on' experience constructing a permanent Boundary Wall. Probably the highest, freestanding DSW in the area !

 These are unique opportunities to experience building new DSW at different stages of construction.

These workshops run 9-45 - 4pm and are a practical introduction to the heritage and the craft, of building walls using natural stone without mortar.

At the end of the workshops you will :- be able to safely and confidently, set out and construct a dry stone wall or other basic features - understand DSW heritage and terminology used - one on two, two on one - or three, Cheek End, Jumpers, Throughs, distinguish various stone shapes, material and it's uses - discussion overview, with 'How to' tips and information regarding the construction of other dry stone walling features:-

  Free:- materials, equipment, tools, eye protection, gloves, personal facilities, extensive selection of descriptive handouts/brochures and 'Certificates of Achievement'.  Ensure you wear suitable loose fitting outdoor clothing and stout, safety footwear, bring packed lunches and drinks as requird.

Our trainers are certificated by the Dry Stone Walling Association. These practical, outdoor workshops are suitable for:  Beginners, DIY enthusiasts, landscape gardeners/designers or persons over the age of 16yrs. looking for an interesting outdoor activity.
